Taro Cake with fried red onion (Moe Khang)


"Taro and Fried Red onion in dessert dish"

We love a sweet dessert cross between an onions smell and a sweet taro cake.Topped with fried red onions,it mixes great,too.


Ingredients
Taro                                                         300 g.
Coconut Milk                                                 1 can (250 ml)
Egg                                                              5 eggs
Palm Sugar                                                   1 cup
Rice flour                                                     3 tbs
Red Onion                                                   5-6 pcs
Vegetable oil                                                1 cup
Pandan leaf                                              2-3 leaf

How to cook

Fried Onion
1.Peel the red onion skin



 2.Chopped red onion in thinly sliced


3.Fried the red onion with a cup of vegetable oil ,until it turn to golden brown.
**Filt the red onion oil in to seperate bowl**



Taro Paste

4.Chopped Taro on a small dice ,
steam about 15 mins or cook in the microwave about 8 mins.






5.Crush/Smash the taro


6.Add 3 tbs of rice flour with taro and mixes it together
**Leave it in a seperate bowl




Wet ingredient
7.Add 5 eggs,1 can of coconut milk,pandan leaf and palm sugar,squeeze them until the palm sugar is dissolve with the coconut milk,After that filter out the wet ingredient.







8.Add the taro paste and 3 tbs of red onion oils (That you get from fried red onion),mixes all together and pure into a square cake. Bake in a 300 F oven for 30 mins or until cake is cooked when tested with a skewer.Topped with fried red onion.
