Street Food# Garlic Chives Cake (ขนมกุ่ยช่าย)





This recipe is one of the recipes 
on Thai Street Food in Thailand.


And why we called Thai Street Food ?
Beacuse you can find food in every market and
on every corner in Thailand.

Garlic Chives Cake or in Thai langues,
we called Kanum-Kui-Chaiy.






Ingredients;
For Garlic Cake
Garlic Chives                               300 g. or 1 bunch
Rice flour                                   1 cup + 1/2 cup
Tapioca Starch                            3 tbs.
(buy from chinese grocery shop)
Vegetable Oil                              5 tbs.
(used 2 tbs for stir fried garlic chives,used 3 tbs for fried garlic chives cake)
Baking Soda                                1/2 ts.
Salt                                            1/4 ts
Choped Garlic                              2 ts.
Water                                         1 cup + 1/4 cup



For The Sauce
Sweet soy sauce                          4 tbs
Hot water                                   4 tbs
Sugar                                          3 tbs
Vinegar                                       3 tbs
Salt                                             1 ts
Sliced Fresh Chilly                         1 chilly


How to cook ;

To make the sauce

1. Mixed all the ingredient together;combine well and add thiny sliced of chilly at last.
Sweet soy sauce                          4 tbs
Hot water                                   4 tbs
Sugar                                          3 tbs
Vinegar                                       3 tbs
Salt                                             1 ts
Sliced Fresh Chilly                         1 chilly








** If you dont eat spicy dont put chilly


the sauce for garlic chives cake.


To make the garlic chives cake
1.Clean the garlic chives by water.
Cut in small size about 1 cm.
Kim 's tip
Drain the water from the garlic chives for 3 mins.




2. Heat the a medium pan in high heat.
Add 2 tbs of vegetable oil and add 2 ts of choped garlic.
Stiring until the garlic turn to golden brown colour and transfer to a bowl.




3.Add garlic chives, 1/2 ts baking soda and 1/4 salt.
Stiring for 3 mins or until the garlic chives turn soft.








3.Mixed
Rice flour   1 cup + 1/2 cup
Tapioca Starch   3 tbs.
 And Water  1 cup + 1/4 cup ; combine well.







4.Add stri fried garlic chives into the mixed flour.
Transfer to a big round bowl and steam for 20 mins









5. Let it cold completely.
Cut in a square size.
Serve with sweet chilly sauce
or you can do "grilled garlic chives cake" too.






How to grilled garlic chives cake
Add 3 tbs of oil to a medium pan.
Put the garlic chives cake and grilled each size for 2-3 mins.
